Outdoor Education - Schools
Thornbridge Outdoors is an approved access organisation for all sections of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards. We also provide a number of training courses that will be of benefit to DofE Award leaders.
Gold Residentials
A range of courses that satisfy the requirements for the residential section of the Gold Award.
First Aid Training for Leaders and Participants
Do you need first aid training for your expedition groups or your unit leaders or volunteers? We offer a range of courses to suit your needs.
Training for Leaders
We offer Walking Group Leader (WGL) and Mountain Leader (ML) courses for groups and individuals, and can design other training courses to match your specific needs.
Expedition Planning and Support
We can also deliver expedition training days / weekends to prepare young people for their expedition, advise on routes and equipment and assist with the remote supervision of groups whilst undertaking their expedition. Training can be based at Thornbridge Outdoors or at another location if appropriate.

First 'Rock Action' course is a great success!
Seven young people from across the UK joined Katherine Schirrmacher, Jules Barratt and Jill Whittaker (from Thornbridge), for a week's climbing in the Peak District and the first ever Rock Action course.
Creative Art in the Outdoors
Thornbridge have hosted 3 creative arts workshops this summer for Sheffield schools, in partnership with SAE (Sheffield Arts Education).
