A friend and I regularly use climbing walls and would like to start climbing outdoors. Do you run training courses for this?

Yes, we can arrange personal coaching in activities for individuals or small groups.

We have a climbing wall at our school / organisation. Can you offer training to our staff so that they can supervise young people on the climbing wall?

Yes, we can deliver site specific climbing wall training and assessment for your staff at your school / location. Contact Thornbridge for more details.

Green Action

Does the Green Action course qualify towards The Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award?

Yes the Green Action course can qualify as the ‘residential’ element of The Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Can my daughter and her friend attend the same Green Action course?

An important part of the course is that it provides the opportunity to meet new people in an unfamiliar environment. You will be living and working with others, building new relationships and working as part of a team. It is for this reason that the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award recommend that ‘only a small minority of those taking part should be known to the participant’. (i.e participants should only know a maximum of one other person on the same course).

MLTE courses

Do I need to carry a heavy rucksack with all my camping gear inside whilst on the on the WGL Training / Assessment course?

No, on the WGL course a roadside camp is used, so there is no need to carry tents / food / sleeping bags etc on to the hill.

I’m interested in taking part in the SPA / WGL / ML training weekend but haven’t registered with the MLTE or joined the BMC. Can I still attend?

Yes, you have 10 days from the date of the course to register with MLTE, if you choose to do so. You can still attend the training course without registering with the MLTE or the BMC, for personal benefit.

First Aid

Can you provide a basic first aid training course for the whole staff at our school / at Thornbridge Outdoors?

Yes, we can provide a range of First Aid courses to meet your requirements including 2 hour, 4 hour , one day and 2 day courses. We can also combine a 2 hour or 4 hour course with some team building activities to create a full staff training / INSET day if you wish.

What is the cost of your 2-day Emergency First Aid course. Does it include overnight accommodation?
