Outdoor Education - Schools
The aim of the Basic First Aid course is to enable students to recognise when someone has a medical emergency, and be able to immediately give the appropriate assistance at a basic first aid level.
Topics covered will include:
- Assessments of situation and casualty
- Airway, breathing and circulation assessments, including emergency resuscitation
- Safe airway position
- Dealing with choking
- Treatment of severe bleeding and shock
The course satisfies the requirements for some NGB awards and some local authority school visit guidelines.
Duration:
1 day.
Cost:
£50 to Sheffield LA staff.
£55 to others.

First 'Rock Action' course is a great success!
Seven young people from across the UK joined Katherine Schirrmacher, Jules Barratt and Jill Whittaker (from Thornbridge), for a week's climbing in the Peak District and the first ever Rock Action course.
