Outdoor Education - Schools

The Low Ropes course is one of the most popular activities here at Thornbridge Outdoors with both day and residential groups, young and old alike.

In order to be able to use the Low Ropes course with a group Thornbridge Outdoors requires staff to have attended an induction course here with our staff.

The Low Ropes induction, which takes all morning includes:

Familiarising yourself with the Low Ropes course itself (by having a go!)
Different ideas to make the course more enjoyable for your groups.
A risk assessment for the course.

The afternoon of the above course is optional and includes familiarising yourself with other visiting staff-led activities here at Thornbridge Outdoors, such as Problem Solving, Orienteering and the Nature Trail. These visiting-staff led activities are also popular and our experience is that groups’ enjoyment is improved by staff being more familiar with them – we therefore recommend that staff stay for the whole day if at all possible.

Duration:
Half day, with optional afternoon session.

Cost:
£20 to leaders of Sheffield LA groups.
£30 to leaders of other groups.
