This nationally recognised award is for those wishing to supervise
climbing on single pitch climbs and climbing walls in the UK. It
is for those already with some climbing experience and involves
a two day training course followed at a later date by a two day
assessment.

This new course is aimed at leaders wishing to take groups into
moorland areas such as Bleaklow and the Dark Peak. It is nationally
recognised for other similar non-mountainous walking areas of the
UK. As with other MLTE awards, a candidate must register to obtain
a logbook, attend training and then gain experience prior to assessment.
The training and assessment courses are each 3 days long.

This is the
nationally recognised award for leading groups walking throughout
the mountains of the UK in summer conditions. Our courses take place
partly in the Peak District and partly in either the Lake District
or North Wales. Navigation, party management, mountain hazards and
expeditioning skills are covered in detail. Six days of training
in either six consecutive days or spread over three weekends.
MLTE Mountain
Leader Award Assessment. The assessment phase tests all the skills
explored during training either over six consecutive days or in
two three day blocks.

A 1st aid course designed for the outdoors. Much
more practical and situation-oriented than traditional 1st aid courses,
the two day course satisfies the requirements of the MLTE for its
award holders. In addition to the dates listed, courses can be arranged
for groups of 6 or more who book together.

The LCMLA 1 Award is for those wishing to take novices into "non-vertical" caves and mines. To achieve the award candidates need to attend a 2 day training course, which is later followed by a skills assessment and separate leadership assessment.
The taining course covers clothing and personal equipment, weather and flooding, accident procedures, underground first aid, underground hazards, access and conservation, leadership skills and surface navigation.

This practical course covers a range of ideas and activities as
well as Health & Safety issues and risk assessment. Candidates who
complete the Course will be endorsed for the use of the Low Ropes
course at the Centre. The full day course includes, not only the
low ropes endorsement but also familiarisation with the problem
solving equipment, ideas and activities and experience of the High

Action (Gold Residential) Conservation and Outdoor Activities

all instruction, equipment, accommodation, food and transport during
the course.
This practical 5-day course will provide you with the opportunity
to develop a range of conservation skills in dry stone walling,
woodland management and working with willow.
During the week
you will also experience outdoor activities such as caving, climbing,
abseiling, high ropes and mountain biking.
This course
will also fulfil the requirements of The Duke of Edinburgh Award
Gold Residential.
