Outdoor Education - Special Schools
Thornbridge Outdoors are willing and able to accommodate groups with both physical and behavioural difficulties. Our facilities are wheelchair accessible and include disabled toilets and showers.
Many activities (such as high ropes / low ropes / mountain biking / abseiling / caving / problem solving / orienteering / environmental activities etc) can be adapted to suit a wide range of abilities.
We can provide programmes designed specifically to meet the needs and requirements of your group. By agreeing the aims and objectives of your visit beforehand, we will help to design a programme specifically for you.
We can provide inclusive activities that challenge and engage children, but ensuring that all can participate and achieve.
A visit to Thornbridge can help young people to:
- Develop personal and social skills – working together / co-operation / teamwork / communication / confidence.
- Provide the opportunity to develop ‘life skills’ - self help and independence skills.
- Interact with the environment and provide the opportunity to try new activities.
