Bo
Thornbridge Outdoors can also help to integrate the following into your programme :
- The 5 aims of ‘Every Child Matters’ (Be Healthy, Enjoy and Achieve, Stay Safe, Make a Positive Contribution, Achieve Economic Wellbeing)
- The themes of SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning)
- *Enhancement of your Healthy Schools programme
*By self-catering, its possible for young people to get involved in deciding on a menu, calculating costs, shopping, preparing a meal, laying tables, serving the meal and of course ... washing up! (tasks which they may not be familiar with at home).
Many schools have found that pupils are interested and keen to get involved in baking, as they learn about the importance of a healthy diet when taking part in physical activities. AQ visit to Thornbridge can provide a fantastic opportunity for young people to try new foods, increase awareness about food hyqiene and diet.
