Our ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for School and Colleges courses are designed to meet the specific needs of schools, colleges, and educational settings. Whether you’re looking to train a few individuals or your entire team, we offer flexible, accredited training that covers both adult and paediatric first aid.
Course Overview
We offer the ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges, a nationally recognised qualification that includes:
- Assessments of situation and casualty
- Airway, breathing and circulation assessments, including emergency resuscitation
- Safe airway position
- Dealing with choking
- Dealing with seizures
- Treatment of severe bleeding and shock

Accredited by: ITC First Aid Ltd (regulated by Ofqual and SQA)
Validity: 3 years
Duration: 6 hours (typically 9am–4pm)

- Standard fee: £80 per person

- The courses are of a practical nature and will involve “treating” other course members and acting as a casualty, both indoors and outdoors so course participants should come with appropriate clothing

Flexible Delivery Options
We offer both open courses and closed course bookings:
- Open courses: Ideal for individuals or small groups, held at the J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre
- Closed courses: Tailored sessions for 4–36 staff, delivered at J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, your school or at Thornbridge Outdoors. Perfect for INSET days or team-building events.
The advantages of a closed course can be:
- Tailored to your school
- A good team bonding activity – we can run courses for up to 36 people at a time allowing staff from across the school to mix
- Planned to fit around school commitments – e.g. on an INSET day
- Good value – reasonable course fees, no travel for staff to other courses and reduced cover costs by using INSET days
