We provide targeted first aid training for groups of school staff either here at Thornbridge Outdoors or at school, enabling staff to recognise when someone has a medical emergency and give the appropriate assistance at a basic first aid level.

Courses vary in length from 3 hours to 3 days depending upon the needs of the staff involved.

Courses are accredited by ITC First Aid Ltd, an Ofqual approved first aid training organisation, and delivered by experienced trainers, who often have school and outdoor education backgrounds – enabling them to tailor the courses accordingly. Most importantly the courses are very practical – giving staff time to practice and increase their confidence in dealing with first aid situations.

Need one or two staff training?

We run ‘open’ Outdoor First Aid courses here at Thornbridge Outdoors for individuals and small groups to sign up for.

Want a first aid course just for your staff?

We can run courses for groups of 4 or more staff either in your school or at Thornbridge Outdoors. By booking a ‘closed’ course your first aid training can:

  • Be tailored to your school.
  • Be a good team bonding activity – we can run courses for up to 36 people at a time allowing staff from across the school to mix.
  • Be planned to fit around school commitments – e.g. on an INSET day.
  • Be good value – reasonable course fees, no travel for staff to other courses and reduced cover costs by using INSET days.

Courses can be between 3 hours (Basic Skills Refreshers) and 3 days (First Aid at Work) long and tailored to your needs – including Outdoor First Aid (e.g. for your Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders and helpers) and Paediatric First Aid (for your early years staff).

Combining first aid training with team building activities has proved popular for INSET days based here at Thornbridge Outdoors.
