Revised use of the Farm House due to COVID-19 until Government Roadmap Step 4 (no earlier than 21 June 2021):

The safety of our guests, staff and community is obviously very important to us.  In order to comply with the guidance around social distancing, enhanced cleaning and other measures that are necessary to reduce the spread of Covid-19 we have adapted how we offer the Farm House as accommodation for guests.

The Farm House is open to bookings for stays by groups that meet the social contact regulations at that time.

What’s included?

Customers will get sole us of the building including:

  • Kitchen and dining room.
  • Toilet and washroom facilities.
  • Three bedrooms for groups of up to 6 (more bedrooms are available for larger groups).
  • Outside seating area.
  • Parking in our main carpark adjacent to the building.
  • Use of the patio area and small garden behind the building.

Shared use of the games field may be possible, but social distancing between groups must be in place.

What’s not included?

  • Use of a Thornbridge BBQ (due to cleaning requirements).
  • Use of the wider site.
  • Cleaning of the accommodation during your stay.

Our low ropes and climbing boulder aren’t usually available to groups that aren’t being instructed by a Thornbridge Outdoors staff member, and it is especially important in the context of COVID-19 that they are not used by visiting groups.

Arrival and departure times:

To allow time for enhanced cleaning of the accommodation between guests please:

  • Arrive after 4pm on your arrival day.
  • Depart by 9.30am on your departure day (5pm on a Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday).

Price and booking:

The use of the Farm House as outlined above is £180 per night, including VAT, for up to 6 people.

Additional guests are £30 per person per night unless they are under 10 is which case they are £15 per person per night.

Changeover days are Monday and Friday and there is a minimum stay of 2 nights.

To book the Farm House please email stating the dates that you would like to stay and that it is the Farm House that you are interested in and we will reply as soon as possible.

Bookings are confirmed by return of an emailed booking form and online payment via a link that you will be sent.  Please note that emails will be checked each morning Monday-Friday.

Bookings beyond Government Roadmap Step 4 (no earlier than 21 June 2021):

The content below is unedited from before the COVID-19 outbreak as we hope to return to being able to allow larger groups to make the most of the Farm House, however please consider the step specific information on our Covid-19 page.

The Farm House is a characterful Grade 2 listed 19th Century accommodation building with a charming roundhouse.  This gives you a fantastic base to access everything the Peak District has to offer with direct access to the traffic free Monsal Trail from our site.  The accommodation building sleeps 38 (including 5 staff/group leaders), with seating in the dining room for 36.  The accommodation building has 7 bedrooms, all named after local caverns and caves, with a mixture of bunk-beds and single beds.

Bedrooms (Sleeps 38)

  • One bedroom, Pooles, sleeps 2 people and has an en-suite toilet and sink.
  • One bedroom, Treak Cliff, sleeps 3 people.
  • One bedroom, Ashford Black Marble, sleeps 5 people.
  • Two bedrooms, Speedwell and Blue John, each sleep 6 people.
  • Two bedrooms, Carlswark and Giants, each sleep 8 people.

Accommodation Features

The kitchen is fully equipped with catering size utensils, freezer, fridge, large catering cooker, grill, small microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and a pantry.  The dining room next to the kitchen seats 36 and the double doors lead to the patio area that has outdoor seating for 36 and a large charcoal BBQ (please bring your own charcoal), making eating outside a popular option.  We have a high chair and a travel cot available to use, please let us know at the time of booking if you need either of these.

A small ‘lounge’ area is within the dining room and has 4 comfy seats, a coffee table, an LCD TV and Blu-ray player.  The TV can be connected to laptops – ideal for sharing photos of your day’s activities.  Wi-Fi access is enabled in the Farm House.

There are male and female toilet and shower rooms, along with a separate toilet/shower room suitable for staff/group leaders.  We provide a duvet and duvet cover, pillow and pillow case, fitted sheet and a blanket (you will have to make up your own beds), but please bring your own towels.  The building is centrally heated with a Hive heating control system.

Please note that no dogs are allowed on site (except for assistance dogs).  The maximum number of people that can stay in the accommodation building is 38, regardless if they are a child or an adult.

Arrival days are normally Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4pm.  If you wish to arrive earlier than 4pm for activities or a meeting please contact us.

Departure days are normally Wednesday and Friday by 10am; Sunday by 5pm.   As on arrival days, activities and meeting spaces may be available on a Wednesday or Friday if you wish to stay onsite later – please get in touch to discuss the different options.

We have a single price for each accommodation building. This means that you book the whole Farm House solely for your own use, no other groups are sharing the space with you. You have the flexibility to bring up to 38 people (or a smaller group is fine… you’ll just have more room!).

Prices below include VAT and apply until 31st March 2022.

  • Weekend / Mid Week (2 nights) – £1,285.40
  • Bank Holiday Weekend (3 nights) – £1,928.10
  • Monday-Friday (4 nights) – £2,570.80
