Clients are advised to take out insurance that includes cancellation and curtailment cover.
1.1
Course places can only be allocated by Thornbridge Outdoors upon receipt of:

The balance of the course fee is payable 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the course. In the event that the balance is not paid Thornbridge Outdoors will have the discretion to withdraw the client’s course place, in which case they will forfeit their deposit.
1.3
The whole course fee is required to reserve a place for any booking made within 8 weeks of the commencement of the course.
In the event that a client has to transfer from one course date to another, and the original course place is resold prior to the commencement of the course, there will be a £15 fee to cover administration costs.
In the event that a client has to transfer from one course date to another, and the course place is not resold prior to the commencement of the course, the client will incur cancellation fees as detailed in 3.4.
All cancellations must be in writing.
Thornbridge Outdoors, once notified by letter, fax or email, of the cancellation will endeavor to re-sell the course place(s).
In the event that the course place is resold prior to the commencement of the course, the client will receive a full refund less a £25 fee to cover administration and finance costs.
3.4
In the event that the course is not resold prior to the commencement of the course, the client will be charged the following cancellation fees:-
Cancellation more than 8 weeks prior to the start of the course – Loss of deposit
Cancellation between 8 and 4 weeks prior to the start of the course – 75% of total course cost
Cancellation less than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course – 100% of total course cost
Substitution of the original client for another can be made provided at least 2 weeks notice is given by the substituted client to Thornbridge Outdoors and the substituting client satisfies the requirement of the course.
Refunds will only be made after the course has commenced.
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that advertised courses actually run, Thornbridge Outdoors will notify the client of cancellation as soon as practicable where it believes on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course activity.
Thornbridge Outdoors shall notify the client if cancellation is likely at least two weeks prior to the start of the course and of actual cancellation not less than five working days before, where for whatever reason, numbers fail to reach a workable minimum for the commencement of the course.
In the event of cancellation by Thornbridge Outdoors clients will be offered the choice of the following options:

A number of the externally accredited courses run by Thornbridge Outdoors have specified minimum contact hours for the delivery of the syllabus. If, for whatever reason, the client misses some of the course they may not fulfil the above requirements and in this case will need to attend an additional course at their own cost.
