Our ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for School and Colleges courses are designed to meet the specific needs of schools, colleges, and educational settings. Whether you’re looking to train a few individuals or your entire team, we offer flexible, accredited training that covers both adult and paediatric first aid.

Course Overview

We offer the ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges, a nationally recognised qualification that includes:

  • Assessments of situation and casualty
  • Airway, breathing and circulation assessments, including emergency resuscitation
  • Safe airway position
  • Dealing with choking
  • Dealing with seizures
  • Treatment of severe bleeding and shock

Certification

Award: Level 3 Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges
Accredited by: ITC First Aid Ltd (regulated by Ofqual and SQA)
Validity: 3 years
Duration: 6 hours (typically 9am–4pm)

Course Cost

  • Standard fee: £80 per person
  • Discount: £10 off for Sheffield school staff (use discount code via the online booking system)

Fee includes tuition, course handbook, registration and certification.

  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical activities

Location & Directions

The course takes place at the J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre in Sheffield.

Booking & Further Information

  • The courses are of a practical nature and will involve “treating” other course members and acting as a casualty, both indoors and outdoors so course participants should come with appropriate clothing
  • A full course programme will be emailed to participants before the course

Flexible Delivery Options

We offer both open courses and closed course bookings:

  • Open courses: Ideal for individuals or small groups, held at the J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre
  • Closed courses: Tailored sessions for 4–36 staff, delivered at J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, your school or at Thornbridge Outdoors. Perfect for INSET days or team-building events.

The advantages of a closed course can be:

  • Tailored to your school
  • A good team bonding activity – we can run courses for up to 36 people at a time allowing staff from across the school to mix
  • Planned to fit around school commitments – e.g. on an INSET day
  • Good value – reasonable course fees, no travel for staff to other courses and reduced cover costs by using INSET days

  • 6 hour Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges
  • 2 day Outdoor First Aid
  • 2 day Paediatric First Aid (for your early years staff)
