 Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Support at Thornbridge Outdoors

Thornbridge Outdoors is proud to support schools and youth organisations in delivering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels.  Whether you’re just starting your DofE programme or looking to enhance your existing offer, our experienced team is here to help.

Expedition Training & Support

We offer tailored expedition training days and weekends to prepare young people for their DofE journeys.  Our support includes:

  • Route planning and navigation skills
  • Equipment advice and packing guidance
  • Remote supervision during expeditions
  • Emergency procedures and safety briefings

Training can take place at Thornbridge Outdoors or at a location that suits your group.

First Aid Training

We provide First Aid training for both young participants and staff involved in DofE delivery. This includes:

Campsite Facilities

Our Meadow Camping area offers a scenic and practical base for Bronze and Silver expeditions.  It’s ideal for training weekends and overnight stays, with access to beautiful surroundings and essential amenities.

Leader Training & Qualifications

We deliver Mountain Training courses for staff and volunteers, including:

Courses are available as open enrolment or bespoke sessions for groups of four or more.
