The Mountain Training Single Pitch Award trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by an Single Pitch Award holder will be roped climbing and bouldering. This award does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing but has been designed to maintain high standards of supervision so that people can enjoy safe sessions in this increasingly popular sport.
The 2-day programme will combine indoor and outdoor climbing sessions and include:
- Belaying and anchor selection
- Personal climbing skills
- Access and environmental issues
