Thornbridge Outdoors is Sheffield City Council’s outdoor learning centre located near Bakewell in the Peak District. Our mission is ‘to widen the horizons of young people through real outdoor adventures in the Peak District’.

The centre, located in a beautiful area of the Peak District near Bakewell, accommodates 90 people in its range of indoor accommodation and up to 50 camping is. It provides term time residentials for school pupils and weekend and holiday accommodation for families and groups.

Casual Domestic Assistants are typically required on our accommodation changeover days Monday, Wednesday and Friday during busy periods. Work times are typically 9.30am – 3pm but can be flexible to suit other commitments – details to be discussed either informally beforehand or at interview.

Please note the location of the centre which is between the villages of Great Longstone and Ashford in the Water in Derbyshire – the postcode is DE45 1NY and worth looking up if you are not familiar with the area. The location is, unfortunately, not well served by public transport so applicants will need to be local or have access to a car.
