The post is part time (50%) and temporary for 6 months. Working hours to include Monday morning and are otherwise flexible within office hours. Due to the nature of the role possibilities for working from home are limited.
Thornbridge Outdoors is Sheffield City Council’s outdoor learning centre located near Bakewell in the Peak District. Our mission is ‘to widen the horizons of young people through real outdoor adventures in the Peak District’.
As part of our small customer service and business support team the successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities including:
- Liaising with customers by phone, email, through the website and in person before, during and after their visit.
- Reception duties, including dealing with customer enquiries and welcoming groups.
- Collating and acting upon information from visiting groups, including their catering requirements and medical needs.
- Managing bookings.
- Invoicing clients.
- Supporting colleagues with purchasing.
- Contributing to the marketing of the centre, including its social media presence.
Please note the location of the centre which is between the villages of Great Longstone and Ashford in the Water in Derbyshire – the postcode is DE45 1NY and worth looking up if you are not familiar with the area. The location is, unfortunately, not well served by public transport so applicants will need to be local or have access to a car.
