Thornbridge Outdoors is Sheffield City Council’s outdoor learning centre located near Bakewell in the Peak District. Our mission is ‘to widen the horizons of young people through real outdoor adventures in the Peak District’ and we work with a range of clients from Sheffield and beyond.
The role includes:
- Delivering quality outdoor education sessions for a range of different groups at our centre, in various venues across the Peak District and on occasion at schools.
- Co-ordinating the daily operational aspects of the centre.
- Leading the Education Team of four permanent instructors and group of ~40 casual instructors.
Applicants should have:
- Significant experience of planning and delivering outdoor education.
- A passion for outdoor learning.
- A clear understanding of the role that outdoor learning has in the development of young people and the ability to articulate this to schools and other user groups.
- An eagerness to lead all of the activities that are available at the centre.
- A good range of outdoor qualifications, as outlined on the job description, and drive to continue to improve your own experience and delivery.
- Excellent organisational skills.
